All-Star Super Makeover Team Hosts
Volunteer Rally at Campus Martius Park TODAY, June 20 at Noon What: The world is coming to Detroit, and the metro Detroit community is invited to get in the game by volunteering to beautify downtown Detroit through the "All-Star Super Makeover." Having reached almost half its goal of engaging 1,000 volunteers, the "All-Star Super Makeover" team will be at Campus Martius Park today, Monday, June 20 seeking additional volunteers to participate in its June 25th downtown beautification initiative. The first 1,000 pre-registered volunteers to show up at the June 25 event will receive two free tickets to a Detroit Tigers game (date to be determined) compliments of the Detroit Tigers. Individuals or groups can register to volunteer for the All-Star Super Makeover at Campus Martius Park today. Where: Campus Martius Park, downtown Detroit.

Who: Special guests include Mike Healy representing the Detroit Tigers and Major League Baseball All-Star Game; and Paws, the Detroit Tigers mascot. Why: The All-Star Super Makeover will help prepare Detroit for the 2005 MLB All-Star Game, and improve the quality of life for all who work, live and visit downtown. On June 25, volunteers will remove and paint over graffiti; remove trash; kill and remove pavement weeds; sweep sidewalks and remove construction debris between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The All-Star Super Makeover is an initiative created by a dynamic combination of metro Detroit civic, business and government leaders including the 2005 Major League Baseball All-Star Game; the City of Detroit & Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick's Motor City Makeover; Ilitch Holdings, Comerica Park & the Detroit Tigers; the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation; the Detroit Lions; the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau; the Detroit Regional Chamber; the Detroit Super Bowl XL Host Committee; Downtown Detroit Partnership; DTE Energy; Eight Mile Boulevard Association; Keep Detroit Beautiful, Volunteer Impact; WJBK Fox 2; Woodward Avenue Action Association; WWJ AM 950; and WXYT AM 1270.
