Global Spectrum ousted as Dodge Arena manager

A
list of complaints ranging from the quality of
concessions to the way the Dodge Arena’s books
were done led to the ouster of Global Spectrum LP
as the manager of the city-owned venue’s
day-to-day operations. Philadelphia-based Global
Spectrum LP had a contract with International
Coliseums Co. to run the $18 million, 5,500 seat
arena. ICC, in turn, worked for the Texas
Municipal Facilities Corp., the nonprofit,
city-established entity that owns the arena.

an agreement announced today, global real estate
franchisor, RE/MAX International has become the
official real estate partner of Little League
Baseball and Softball in the United States and
Canada. The arrangement affords RE/MAX offices and
associates the opportunity to become involved in a
wide variety of sponsorships of an array of Little
League programs at the local, league and district
levels as well as RE/MAX participation in five
regional finals and the Little League Baseball
World Series scheduled for August 19-28, 2005 in
Williamsport, Pa.

Mom's across America better hope there's no civil
suit. According to a recent study by Beckett
Media, the acknowledged authority on the trading
card hobby for over 20 years, the value of the
baseball cards found in a typical shoebox in the
late '50s would equal thousands of dollars today.
"If you take a typical kid who lived in
middle-America back in 1957 as an example, we
figured he'd have kept roughly 100 cards in a
shoebox," says Beckett Price Guide analyst Rich
Klein. "That's a fair assumption given the size of
a youth shoebox and the dimensions of the cards
from that era.

launched his new official website, located at

developed and is being hosted by MLB Advanced Media, the
interactive media and Internet company of Major League

a warning to parents about the hidden risks of Summer Sports

Hold
a bit of baseball history in your hands! Prior to
demolition or remodeling, the wooden seats from
many old ballparks were removed to make way for
plastic seats and luxury boxes. The seats were
usually destroyed or discarded.
Ball Park Pens
was able to obtain limited quantities of the original seating material from several old
baseball stadiums and has created a line of fine
writing instruments for the enjoyment of sports
fans everywhere.
