Derrek
Lee or Rafael Palmeiro? That was the question that
plagued Oklahoma native Brian Ward last week as he
had to decide which player to choose in MLB.com's
"Beat the Streak: Home Run Edition" game. The free
fantasy game, which debuted in June, challenged
fans to break the all-time consecutive home run
mark of eight straight games held by Dale Long,
Don Mattingly and Ken Griffey Jr. To surpass the
record, all fans needed to do was pick one player
who would hit a home run for nine straight games.
The first fan to do so would take home $10,000 in
cash.
