Sox centerfielder Johnny Damon says quality
afterschool programs lead to high achievement in
school and life. In an event today at Boston's
Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Damon led youth from the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston in taking the "I Can
Achieve" pledge - a promise to do their best every
day and achieve in school. The pledge is part of
"Goals for Graduation," an afterschool program
offered nationwide by Boys & Girls Clubs of
America and created in partnership with the
JCPenney Afterschool Fund.

class of its newly established Beckett Baseball
Card Hall of Fame. The 10 cards chosen by Beckett

Houston Astros and Reliant Energy have signed
multi-year marketing and energy supply agreements
making Reliant Energy the official electricity
supplier to the team and Minute Maid Park. "This
is a grand union of two hometown brands and we are
delighted to have been chosen by the Astros to
light up the ballpark," said James Robb, senior
vice president of retail marketing for Reliant
Energy. "The agreements also provide us with
opportunities to join forces with the Astros on
community activities, which will allow us to have

York Yankees claimed the top spot on the chart for
overall hottest tickets sold on the secondary
market, according to the TicketsNow Entertainment
Index for July. The Bronx Bombers outranked the

is a critical need for blood in our area and the
Phillies are teaming up with the American Red
Cross to save lives this summer. The American Red
Cross needs 1,000 blood donors to come to Citizens
Bank Park for a massive "Phillies Fan Blood Drive"
on August 13. The event, which is open to the
public, will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
in the Hall of Fame Club at Citizens Bank Park.
